The Most Romantic Hotel in the World -About.com’s 2011 Reader’s Choice Awards

The Hotel Andaluz, known as the greenest Four-Diamond boutique hotel in the world, is now contending as one of the five finalists for the title of “The Most Romantic Hotel or Resort in the World.” The title is part of About.com’s 2011 Reader’s Choice Awards. Hotel Andaluz is competing against hotels in Mexico’s Riviera, Florida, the Turks and Caicos Islands and Arizona.

The nomination is not surprising to those who have stayed at the Hotel Andaluz previously. The hotel has spent considerable time and money to cultivate an air of romance. A rooftop bar/nightclub, an award-winning restaurant, a 2,400 square foot entertainment venue and private casbahs in the lobby all add to the ambiance. Couples will enjoy this desert hideaway with Mediterranean appeal.

In response to the nomination, Gary Goodman, owner of the Hotel Andaluz said, “Reflective of the emotions Hotel Andaluz evokes, our guests feel passionate enough to have voted it as one of the top five ‘most romantic hotels’ in the world; which is both humbling and an honor.”

“We hope everyone keeps the momentum going by voting for Hotel Andaluz,” said Goodman. “With its world–class amenities, environmentally responsible design and seductive Mediterranean decor, past guests know it is at the top of its class, but this designation would be icing on the cake.”

The winner is selected based on the amount of total votes cast by visitors to About.com. Voting is open until March 8, 2011 and the winner will be announced on March 15, 2011. To cast your vote visithttp://hotels.about.com/b/2011/02/11/finalists-most-romantic-hotel-or-resort.htm.

The Good, the Oops! and the Funny: Events in the Life of a Teacher by author Sally Zolkosky Labadie.

Reading student teachers’ journals was one way Gertrude Crampton, seminar professor at Eastern Michigan University, kept in touch with what was going on in the classrooms of her student teachers in 1962. In The Good, the Oops! and the Funny: Events in the Life of a Teacher, she tells about the many “critters” that were in her classroom, how her students developed their own nature trail, and she relates some of the many humorous escapades and anecdotes that helped her enjoy her long career.

Amusing and nostalgic, The Good, the Oops! and the Funny: Events in the Life of a Teacher by author Sally Zolkosky Labadie.takes readers back to their school years, definitely bringing out smiles on their faces.
